Office Hours - 8:45 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Counselor's will have daily counseling lessons, individual counseling and group counseling (times will vary).

Small Group Counseling
YKES counselors offer a variety of groups throughout the school year. Groups are formed based on student needs. Counselors form groups after receiving requests/concerns about students from parents, teachers, and students themselves. Groups are often started approximately three times per year, however, new groups can be started as needed.
Groups typically meet weekly for 6 to 8 sessions during lunch. Groups frequently offered include:
Friendship/Social Skills
Self-Esteem/Confidence Building
Work Habits/Study Skills
Changing Families
Coping with Feelings/Anger Management
Individual Counseling
The counselors at YKES are available for individual student counseling. Students may refer themselves to the counselor by filling out "Notes to the Counselor" located in each classroom or write an individual note. If students have an emergency situation, they may write the notes in red, and we will see them before the end of the school day. Besides self-referral, students can be referred to the counselor by teachers, parents, administrators, or the Intervention Team.
