I have been part of the Yorkshire Family since December 2013. It is my sixth full year teaching ESOL and I feel it is such a blessing to impart education to our young scholars here at Yorkshire Elementary School!  Education is very important to me.  I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Mary Washington and Masters degree from George Mason University with with endorsements in ESOL, Middle School English, and Music (Instrumental & Choral).

Working with kids is my passion.  I have taught all elementary grade levels and this year, I will be working in 4th and 5th graders.  I am really looking forward to learning about and working with your child.  I believe in the potential of all students to learn through discovery, engaging activities, and study.

Please let me know if you need anything while exploring the web page or getting to work. My e-mail address is ravisjl@pwcs.edu .

Announcements

Congratulations, students and parents, for making it through school during the COVID-19 medical crisis and the three-month distance learning.  This year as been the hardest year by far for everyone, but you were able to adapt very quickly and find a way to work through the challenges with the help of your teachers and admin.  Even though this was a strange year, you finished the school year and now will be matriculating to a new grade next academic year!

Over your summer, you are encouraged to continue learning by visiting any review lessons from the 2019-2020 school year.  Don’t miss the fun activities on these weekly Choice Boards!  To view, please visit the 4th grade class web page: https://yorkshirees.pwcs.edu/class_pages/fourth_grade

There are some great opportunities available through Myon (subscription will continue until the end of July and is accessible through Clever) as well as the Prince William County Library System Summer Reading Program .  Remember, Summer School will be virtual this year, and is available and free to you!  Please take advantage of it, if your summer schedule permits.

If you are having trouble logging onto Clever or Office 365, videos were added to the virtual learning page and technology encore page.

*Reminder: Everything that has been provided to you is optional and is a review of prior learning.

Have a great summer vacation and can't wait to see you in the fall!

Yours truly,

Mrs. Ravis
